HP QTP 9.2 has support for Firefox 2, after successful installation look at QTP 9.2 plugin in Tools->Add-ons tab of FireFox browser. Additional check can be done with QuickTest Pro 9.2 - Object Spy to verify the web application properties recognized properly. In the worst case scenario you can always ask your management to invest money into acquiring SilkTest automated tool which has better support for Mozilla Foundation based browsers.
Update (01/01/12) - HP QTP 11 supports Firefox 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0 and 8.0 with QTPWEB_00090 patch. To get Firefox browser patch for HP QuickTest Professional 11 request it from HP support.
